Recently, the Embassy in Venezuela and the Venezuelan - Chinese Chamber of Commerce held a Photography and Micro-video Competition by "Celebrating the Centenary of the Founding of the Party" to celebrate the centenary of the Communist Party of China. One photography among the many works caught people’s attention named The Clear Spring of Hope which presents the Punta Gorda desalination plant built by Rightleder. This plant takes 380 days’ hard work, stably running of more than 1200 days to share a contribution for the Urban Construction in Venezuela through the endless supply of freshwater. With the blessings from Venezuelan people, the young Chinese engineers devote their strength of youth under the tough situation to creating a new century totem belonging to young Communist Party members
You may wonder why it is called "The Clear Spring of Hope" and what kind of project can receive foreign blessings in a distant country, and call it "the clear spring of hope". The editor will explain you the details as below:
With the sudden attack of the epidemic situation of COVID-19 in 2020, various countries have taken measures to stop all non-essential production activities and restrict entry, resulting in negative effects such as the increase of construction cost, the extension of construction period, the increase of health and safety risks in practice, and the difficulty of management. Chinese contractors are actively responding to new problems and strive to reduce losses before the epidemic is brought under control.
Punta Gorda desalination plant built by Rightleder is located in Venezuela, and the full name of the project is Venezuela EPC Desalination Project, which is a large-scale desalination project found by the Venezuelan government to solve the dilemma that water is more expensive than oil and to meet the drinking needs of millions of local people. Venezuela is a country located in the north of South America. The geographical location and climate determine that the region is dry with little rainfall, there are no lakes and underground fresh water around it, and freshwater resources are scarce. The project is mainly for densely populated areas, such as the Venezuelan capital and airport to provide safe drinking water. It is well known that the safety of water quality directly affects the health and sustainable development of the people in the area. Clean drinking water can effectively reduce the probability and frequency of illnessesn, thereby reducing medical expenditures in the area. Desalinated sea water can also be used in agricultural irrigation, and the industries of food, beverage, ice making in the region, which can greatly promote local development. And that’s is why the project is called "Clear Spring".
The water treatment system used in the EPC seawater desalination project in Venezuela adopts advanced water treatment processes such as two-stage filtration, two-stage reverse osmosis, BWRO+ deboron in alkali condition and post-mineralization, and is equipped with an energy recovery system and a pure water filling line, which can filter out particles, impurities, bacteria, harmful ions and other substances in the water, realize seawater desalination, and the outlet water can be drunk directly. It is proved that the membrane desalination technology is very mature by using distributed control system (DCS) and stable operation for more than 1200 days. In the process, through the improvement of the performance of the membrane and membrane module, the price is greatly reduced, and the application cost is getting lower, so that the energy consumption of the whole equipment is less, which can effectively save energy and reduce the cost of water production. In addition, the membrane technology of seawater desalination is the type of unit combination, the scale of construction can be expanded step by step. That is to say, this is a “wellspring” can be constantly expanded and to meet the more needs of the water using.
This project is a seawater desalination EPC project successfully bid by Rightleder independently overseas. Before the formal cooperation was confirmed, the Venezuelan project leader visited the Rightleder’s headquarter several times. Meanwhile, Rightleder was also invited by the Venezuelan Embassy in China to enter the project site for on-site inspections and investigations. The partnership was finally determined, and the project was completed on schedule.
Over the past five years, Rightleder has provided technical training to more than 40 Venezuelan technicians in addition to its own technical services. There is an old saying in china “It is better to teach a man to fish than to give him a fish”. Through the intimate cooperation with Venezuelan, we set quality as the priority, strictly make the selection of materials and put value on the process design and personal training, eventually complete the “ the clear spring of hope” together remotely in tens of thousands miles away . Times change, the sun and moon change, but the original intention unchanged. Rightleder is deeply devoted into South American continent to expand international market of water treatment, and give a new surge of energy for the world water treatment industry.
